NOVEMBER 20th – Children’s Day 2020
November 20th is an important date as it is the date in 1959 when the UN General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child. It is also the date in 1989 when the UN General assembly adopted the Convention on the Rights of the Child. This is a day that is all about the importance of children and how they have special rights and freedoms that help them to grow into happy, healthy adults.
Treoir believes that children born to parents who are not married to each other should have the same rights as those born to married parents and that all children deserve to be loved and cared for by both parents – where possible! Children’s Day gives us all an opportunity to reflect on the lives of our children and how we can improve their lives so that they can grow and learn in a healthy environment where they are supported, cherished, and loved!
Happy Children’s Day to all of our children and young people!!
