International Day for the Eradication of Poverty
07 October, 2019
Treoir, The National Federation for Unmarried Parents and their Children will hold a series of public events to mark UN Day for the Eradication of Poverty. This year the theme is Acting Together to Empower Children, Their Families and Communities to End Poverty. This was chosen as 2019 marks the 30th anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
In keeping with this, Treoir will run a series of “Know your Rights” events from the 15 to 18 October. These will provide information to parents who are not married to each other about their rights in relation to custody, access, guardianship, passports and social welfare. We will also provide people with information on the supports and services that are available to them.
Treoir will hold “Know your Rights” events in the following venues:
· Central Library, Ilac Shopping Centre, Tuesday, 15 October from 1-2pm
· Ballyfermot Civic centre, – Wednesday, 16 October from 9.30 – 11am
· Ballymun Civic Centre, – Wednesday, 16 October from 1-2pm
· Tallaght Library, – Thursday, 17 October from 11.30 – 12.30
